Spanish Immersion Studies

Studying abroad might seem like a dream to most kids, but there are many programs that can help students who want to experience culture and a life outside their current country. In fact, an increasing number of American students are going to faraway lands for a semester of teen study abroad.

Sure, it looks good on their resume, but it’s also a scrapbook full of memories, and it's a chance to do something before being tied down to a family and career. Studying abroad is a good idea to almost 79% of people in the US, but only about 1% actually participates in study abroad programs for teens. However, after doing some research into the international youth programs available, a teen summer study abroad may be just the thing a young adult needs.

As a parent, most want their children to experience bigger and better things, far beyond what they accomplished. One of the things that teen study abroad programs can do is provide language immersion study for teens. While English is a recognized language, others like Spanish, German and French are also commonly used and can be learned during the summer abroad programs. Learning Spanish can also enhance job opportunities. When a person learns another language, it too can open up a whole section of employment. What employer doesn’t want an employee who took part in international youth programs and immersed themselves in the culture of other counties?

A teen study abroad program can be done in various counties. The US has many programs that are done through partnerships with France, Switzerland, Spain, Russia and even Germany. While these are just a few host countries that host the teen study abroad programs, the ability to eat new and existing foods, learn a language and embrace the culture of another civilization is enthralling. By participating in the language immersion study for teens, they are able to meet new and exciting people that they normally wouldn’t have had the chance too. By learning to speak as they do, they can communicate and learn valuable life lessons. When teens study abroad, they can also teach others about American customs.

In the past few years, teen summer abroad programs have become a component of the college experience. Some are trading stale classrooms in American for a semester at sea. Over the past decade, there has been a 250% increase in teen summer study abroad. The teenager study abroad programs has gained in popularity because it is an experience unlike non-other. While the majority of students will only select to go for one semester, there is an option to go for an entire academic year. Not all students will be able to afford to do this, or have a desire to, but those who can have the option to be gone for an extended period.

Typically, most study abroad programs are for a semester; however, there are about 6% of teenager study abroad programs that offer the option to stay for a year. Other youth study abroad programs and youth summer study abroad programs are sending children not for one year, but for their entire degree program.
Teens Abroad, a division of The National Registration Center for Study Abroad (NRCSA) has been helping young people build confidence and learn a new culture through their educational programs abroad and summer programs abroad for teens. As one of the youth study abroad programs that has seen an influx of students, they feel the program is increasing in popularity. Teens Abroad has summer study abroad programs as well as a level of service, expertise, program customization, and overall results not available through other sources of foreign language and culture training.
The summer programs abroad for teens offer them an experience to see how the people of this country live. While in American most choose a home with ample space in some parts and a high rise in another part, the same can be said of living abroad. Most American students who go to Europe on such teenager study abroad programs are surprised to learn that most don’t have air conditioning. In American, people consider AC a staple, but in the UK, it is a luxury most don’t have. That is just one small fact that can be learned from the teen study abroad programs.

Another difference that sets Teens Abroad apart from other study abroad programs, and their study abroad programs for teens, is that they evaluate and visit many different schools offering both language and cultural programs, and select only those which meet their strict standards. They see the benefits that this careful selection process brings and their parents as well share their enthusiasm that their children have after participating in the youth study abroad programs. Embracing the culture and trying new foods and experiences is what these summer programs abroad for teens are all about.
